Meandering Steps

Sometimes,
stairs are a disguise
misleading mindless slush.
At times,
stairs lead nowhere
and yet, unknowingly
climbing, edging on
we reach a place, some place -
the shallow emptiness
pervading our minds and souls.

Stairs,
not always a lead
to a destination,
the goal to fortune,
the love of our life.
Stairs,
a journey,
in sync with our meandering thoughts
landing us in the lavish passion of hell
or shoving us into the gentle peace of eternity...

Now people prefer 'lifts' to stairs. But Lifts do fail, but stairs are there to serve for a long time......
