Lemon Bashing

The lonely lemon lay lost
wondering
about the juice of life
that lay hidden within
yet, untapped
the aroma obvious
yet, unimaginable.
All it needed
was a friendly fork of a fiend
to shake hands,
and pull out the taste of life.
When it did
the effect was fantastic -
with the delicious summer juice
came the fun filled festival of
friendly fervor -
the Indian way,
the Holi* way.

*Holi: The Indian festival of colors that will be celebrated this month.

And how appropriately you have combined this with Holi... it seemed just PERFECT!!

Hi Kavita. I am so glad you liked the poem. At first I really needed to think what to make of the prompt. But, when it started and the color (red here) I definitely did not want it to be associated with anything negative.

Happy Holi to you too. Will wish you again when it comes.....
Thanks!
