What Is Grace?

Grace is....

......Growing old together
Sharing grudges, lust and hope.
Trusting when the world is lost
To the terror of insensitivity.

.......Flying high like an eagle
Alone, proudly in the bright blue sky
Waiting for no one
In the vast expanse of the splendid horizon.

..Watching that ripple in the lake.
Spreading its essence all.... over.
Letting it dissolve inside You
Finally granting you the peace you were searching for.

Prompt: GRACE

thank you for leaving such kind words on my poem The Mirror.

this is a beautifully written piece. Thank you for leading me to your blog. I love these lines

'watching that ripple in the lake.
spreading it's essence all...over
Letting it dissolve inside You (I like how you turned you into a noun) and finally the ripple seeps inside you and grants you peace. *sigh*

thank you

I look forward to reading more from you

take care

I read this with deep breaths and feel the peace that comes with recognizing grace when it comes.

Thanks Sandy. I am glad you liked the poem. If only all of us saw and felt grace in every form.....

Nice post Shail.
Although all three instances are unparalleled.
But on a re read I was most enamoured with the 1st stanza.
I too personally believe that growing old together is the biggest act of grace. To look back at your own face with lines created cause of your own hard work is the biggest achievement one could ever feel.

Thanks Maglo. I really appreciate your powers of observation. Yes, each stanza is different and yet inter connected with the theme of 'grace.'

At the first glance it looks like a soft poem. But when you read it again and again the words are quite haunting and they hammer you on your head.
Well-written, Shail. And it serves only to increase my longing to have your first book of verse on my hand and read it whenever I feel like it.

a trilogy of grace expressed so beautifully... grace is fleeting in a fast world of our own making... born again
