All that I see
is a room abandoned
with memories
that hurt and heal.
His old over-used cellphone cover
like a snake having shed its skin
behind, to mingle with dust.
His slim toothbrush still leaning
towards mine as I reach out
for a toothpaste bent, shared
with energy, need and desire
a shooting pain of a reminiscence
of good times,
of happy moments,
of love
once bending together
in unison
like that toothbrush
now lonely,
incompatible
but still there
as if to remind me
of a presence I needed once.
